This is a remote, contract position for approximately 20 hrs/week. Strong likelihood of growing into a full time role. (We're definitely looking for someone who wants to grow with us!)
We’re growing a new blog on web dev / devops topics, and we’re looking for someone to lay the SEO groundwork and oversee content creation, as well as oversee the establishment of our PR and social media marketing efforts.
You’ll be working on a brand new product from the MeetEdgar team. When we boot-strapped Edgar in mid-2014, it quickly became profitable and now has thousands of happy paying customers! We want your help to do it all over again with Ropig. (https://ropig.com
It’s a greenfield project (yay!), so you’ll be instrumental in making the decisions of how it all comes together.
This role will be kicking off our marketing team, working alongside a small team of developers who are currently building the product. While the project is new you’ll also be a member of our larger Edgar team, and have Edgar resources (like design and marketing dev help) to pull from.
You will do the keyword research to create an in-depth SEO and content plan. You’ll be in charge of making sure all of the technical details (like google search console, proper sitemaps) are covered, as well as ensuring that SEO best practices are in place for all content.
You will not be the primary writer for the blog, but you will be overseeing and editing writers and well as doing content research and link building of your own. You will be the primary content creator for the brand's social media accounts.
You will be active in DevOps and tech communities online, and working to grow Ropig’s social media presence through outreach efforts and employing our in-house Social Brilliant social media marketing strategy.
Your duties include:
- Systematizing SEO practices for blog and site content
- Sourcing and managing freelancers and guest posters
- Sourcing curated/roundup content like getting quotes from others
- Forming relationships with writers, experts, content partners, etc
- Managing Ropig's social media presence
- Sourcing and securing advertising and sponsorship opportunities
Ideally you have some kind of background or interest in the devops/development world. You do not need to be an expert, but you need to be familiar enough with development terms, concepts, and technologies to hold your own!
